I tried a USB extension cord on a whim, and it works perfectly if you need to expand the length.

No, it remains essentially unchanged. After a while, it straightens out a little, but the rigidity and cable sound remain. Because of their rigidity, the headphones shatter quite easily. The wire within the plastic frays, causing the sound to cease. I've owned three pairs, and they all broke in the same way.

If you're wondering about cord length, you could need a longer one. The cord on the H540, unlike the 99-inch (almost 8-foot) cord on my old H390, will not reach a computer if you are leaning back on a bed and the computer surface is any respectable distance from the end of the bed. No amount of cushions behind the back could compensate for the short length. I had to send it back.

Will this headset support zoom?
