    FAQS :

    Does this device detect stairs?

    Answer: sure it does

Will it function if set up in an area smaller than 5' x 6'? I do not have a permanent location for something that size.

Yes, we have tried it in multiple locations with no issues. It will function well so long as there is a clear passage into and out of the area when it is being used. It just requires around 2 feet of space from the front of the base unit to ensure a perfect charge/discharge connection, as it backs in very quickly once properly aligned. Ours is situated in a 2x2 or smaller area behind the sofa and love seat. You wouldn't even know it was there unless you were searching for something or it turned on.

Does it also mop the floor?

No, Shark makes a model with a mopping feature, however this product does not.

Do I ever have to clean the interior?

Answer: The interior of the base has a filter that must be routinely cleaned or changed. If you choose to replace them, the replacement filters are fairly inexpensive. Aside from that, it will perform as designed without the interior of the debris collection container being cleaned.

What are the measurements of the mobile robot?

    Answer: 13.38 inches

    Does this contain no-entry zones?

I currently own the Shark IQ XL self-emptying product. The only issue is that you would need to employ border strips for the no-go zone. Which is terrible for a product such as this. I own an ecovac that includes the no-go Zone feature in its app. I have 30 days remaining to return the item for a complete refund. Supposedly, an app update will include no go Zone. But I'm not holding my breath on that front. I still have 29 days until I return it.

Anyone anyone having trouble acquiring a comprehensive map? After sixty runs inside three resets, I still lack a complete map. I'm glad it's still 30 days away

Answer: Yes. 1) Turn OFF scheduling and always begin cleaning manually at 100% battery (do this twice a day if possible), 2) Turn OFF "Evacuate and Resume" and "Recharge and Resume," and 3) Set the power mode to 'Eco'. Occasionally, when cleaning by schedule, the robot only cleans for 60 minutes, which in my case does not appear to be sufficient time to create a good map. "Evacuate and Resume" occasionally sends the robot back to the dock after 30 minutes, which consumes battery life and indicates that the robot does not plan its return route. 'Recharge and Resume' occasionally generates a second run during the day, and the maps from the first and second runs do not appear to mix into a better map. Depending on the kind of flooring, 'Eco' mode can extend cleaning cycles by up to 60%, giving the robot more time to explore and map. Today was the first time I applied all of these settings, and my robot ran for 162 minutes, producing the finest map of my floor to date (about 2400 sq ft of hardwood and tile - the app says it cleaned 1648 sq ft on this run). Previously, when I had the power set to normal and employed the 'Evacuate and Resume' function, the run would only last approximately 90 minutes until the battery ran out. A hint on resetting or removing the primary map: A few hours after each run, review the history's main map and daily map. The daily maps should cover 90% or more of your floor plan, with the robot entering each room at least partially. If the main map appears significantly off (or is very small) and does not improve after a few runs with clearly superior daily maps, erase the main map and try again. I have 47 runs with 1 delete/reset on Day 9 and am still awaiting a finished map (it is Day 18 (cleaned on Day 15)). Frustrating. I'm exhausted by the robot's haphazard vacuuming of the entire floor, as though every room requires equal attention. When I can get the robot to clean simply the kitchen twice per day and the entire floor twice per week, I'll be satisfied. The Android version of my application is 2.1.9 (1013), and the firmware version is V3.4.11-20191015.

Can I use this machine with a 220v-to-120v step-down transformer while maintaining 50hz frequency instead of 60hz?

It is powered by a battery. However, the charger may be incompatible with 50 Hz. However, I would not squander the money. From my experience, shark is trash. Today, I broke mine to pieces with a hammer because I had had enough. Even if you gave it to me for free, I wouldn't utilise it.
