    FAQS :

All of the lights on my SB6190 are green, however they appear differently in the photo; is this normal?

If the channels are bonded, the middle two will be blue. According to your strategy

    It supports MAC filtering, right?

The answer is that a router does MAC filtering. It could be configured as a router by your ISP, but you have no influence over the setup. Only use this as a modem and configure MAC filtering on a different router.

I need a new modem to replace the rental Xfinity cable modem (which contains a phone jack). Can Arris SB 6190 do the task?

It has been really effective for me; I used it to replace my Optimum modem. It does not, however, include a phone jack. You might also require a router, which I also bought.

The 500 MBPS speed of my xfinity subscription. Will this gadget function at that speed?

The website of the supplier should have an approved list, so check there. This modem isn't DOCSIS 3.1 and would likely be at the low end of what would function with a 500 MBPS service plan, thus it isn't "future-proof." With my Spectrum 300 MBPS plan, I enjoy this modem quite a bit, but if I had 500 MBPS, I would certainly go for a somewhat better spec one. If you utilize the Xfinity voice service, this item won't function.

Will Suddenlink support this in Louisiana?

It will function with any cable broadband provider, to be precise. Since these modems are ubiquitous, they may be used with any coaxial connection.

Should the bottom light continue to be green? Mine is more white than green, though.

Yes, if it is online, the online LED (with the world icon) will remain green. Due to the low brightness levels, the color may seem white; however, you may change the brightness level via the device's web interface.

Is this model compatible with the Optimum Arris model's replacement?

In order to inquire specifically about this model, please contact Optimum directly as they do not promote which retail models they would support.

Is there a wps button on this modem for configuring tp-link wifi extenders?

No, there is no WPS button on this device. Please keep in mind that this gadget is merely a cable modem and does not have WiFi.

How frequently is the software updated to keep up with Spectrum?

Answer: I have Autism Spectrum Disorder. When I originally phoned to add it to the account and set it up, they conducted the initial firmware push to my router. So far, it appears like they will not need to deploy firmware upgrades to this every other day, leading it to shut down like their reconditioned equipment. So far, there hasn't been a single decrease in quality or connectivity in three months. Spectrum-issued equipment was frequently dropping connections and rebooting (all 12 boxes I received from them before giving up and doing my own equipment). I'm not sure how dependable Spectrum is in your region because this is central Florida.

Is this compatible with the Xfinity Triple Play service?

No, Triple Play includes an IP phone that connects to your router. I'm not sure if your "wired" phone number may be transferred to Comcast. This modem will not allow you to use their phone service. For $$$ per month, Comcast will rent you a modem, wireless router, and IP phone router. There are just a few of these systems that enable Comcast IP phones, and they cost more than $300 to buy. Furthermore, with triple play, you will be charged a $15 or more annual 911 fee by the FCC. I have triple play but purchased this modem and Ooma for roughly $5 per month to move my "home" phone line. After 30 days, you must notify the provider that you just want the basic service.

    Is it wifi 6 compatible?

Answer: Although this modem does not feature Wi-Fi, the Ethernet output may be connected to a Wifi 6 router.

Is this justified? I only had it for 5 months before it died on me.

Answer: The product comes with a warranty period. Please contact our customer service staff for warranty replacement.

I have a Linksys wifi router that I use at home; can I connect it to this modem?

Answer: You may connect your Wi-Fi router to this modem to provide wireless internet access.

    What does it include?

Answer: The kit includes an SB8200 hardware unit as well as a power cord.
