    FAQS :

How does it compare to the Optoma HD60?

Answer: They are both DLP XRP 4K projectors, but the HT3550 has an RGBRGB color wheel, which provides greater colors and performance for movie aficionados enjoying their 4K collections. The UHD60 has an RGBCY color wheel, which provides more brightness for consumers watching videos or playing games in well-lit environments. One thing to keep in mind is that non-RGBRGB DLP projectors typically produce a greater rainbow effect than RGBRGB projectors, so if you are RGE sensitive, this is something to consider.

Previous owners of the W1070 How does it fare in dimly lit film scenes? Is the sky still murky gray? Several movies are ruined for me by the W1070's mediocre darks!

Answer: I think black is adequate for my dedicated HT room with no ambient light. If you're concerned about black levels, the 9060 is the way to go.

Does it support 1080p 2D with a refresh rate of 120 Hz on PC?

Answer: We are delighted to inform you that this model supports 1080p content at a refresh rate of 120 Hz. To get the resolution, connect using the HDMI 2.0 port. If you want to learn more about the timing chart, please see page 41 of the user manual.

    Can I project a 16.9 image on a 92" diagonal screen from a ceiling mount 12' away?

The best screen size for a 16:9 projection at 12 feet (365.7 mm) is 120 inches. Please see the Projection Dimensions section on page 12 of our User Handbook for further details.

Is it possible to mount it on the floor?

It can be installed anywhere. The most significant consideration is where you set your screen and the projector's line of sight. If you can readily locate your screen, you should be OK mounting it to your liking.I'm disappointed that there are no display port inputs.

How can you use the high refresh rate if you don't allow a cord to take advantage of it?

Answer: This supports 4K at 60 Hz, which is the same as 1080p at 240 Hz. As an answer to the individual who raised a question, this does 4K/60 but can run at the slower refresh rate of movies (24hz, 30hz for TV, or the 48hz that some complained was too fast in 'The Hobbit' movies).

Do all 3D projectors necessitate the use of active glasses? Are there any that are compatible with passive glasses?

Answer: This is about to change. So far, theaters have a monopoly on the basic tone-shift glasses technology, forcing home projectors to work around it (with battery power).

Is 3D equipment required to enable 3D mode, and what glasses can I use?

Answer: You'll need a media player that can play 3D videos. When you start a 3D video, the projector should automatically switch to 3D mode. You'll want to make sure you have 3D DLP Link technology glasses; we don't make our own, so when looking for a pair, just make sure they're DLP Link technology.
