I bought the pet cleaner that came with this spot cleaner... it says it's only for upright cleaners... is this considered an upright?

No, it cannot be used as a dry vacuum.
Can I clean with just warm water and a dash of Dawn?
Yes, you can, but only in this manner....
Spray your upholstery or carpet with warm water and a few drops of Dawn in a spray bottle or garden pressure sprayer.
The Bissell should then be cleaned with only clean water.
Don't put Dawn in the washing machine.
Can you see through the suction nozzle to see when your carpets are dirt-free?

Do you offer attachments?

Do you know if Bissel has addressed the issue where the hose connects to the handle where it breaks, as many customers claim? Or do they provide you?
Because of the outlined issue, I'm in the process of replacing mine.
After so much use, the hose does get brittle, and the section that connects to the suction handle eventually breaks.
The issue is that this model lacks a hose replacement.
Additionally, I looked into how to repair the hose and it appears that I will need to disassemble the machine in order to reach the end of the hose that connects to the machine.
The water containers appear to be poorly built and difficult to completely empty. Is that causing anyone any issues?

It was really difficult for me to empty the unclean water tank.
The machine's plastic tank can be taken out.
The removal of a portion of that tank in order to fully open it up was demonstrated in a film.
I'm unable to provide the link here, but I do hope that this explanation is helpful.
Remove the machine's filthy water tank.
Next, raise and cross the purple handle over the tank.
When you keep pressing softly but firmly, the handle will "give" slightly and allow you to move it well over the top of the tank, making a nearly 180-degree turn from where it was previously. It will first stick at the top and appear as though it cannot move any further.
Now you may lift the top section off by sliding your fingers under it.
Where the plastic appears to separate is visible.
When the tank is divided, you can freely clean both sides by placing it in the sink.
It stops there naturally, so I was hesitant to push it over that point, but it does.
Is it possible to remove the muck that has become lodged in the brush head?
Yes, you can clean the brush head and hose by sucking up a little amount of water from a bowl to remove any dirt or debris.
I also purchased the cleaner that was suggested, however the bottle specifies that it is intended for upright vacuums. Is using it in the portable one safe?
I would presume that is ok because I have used the same cleaners with no issues in both this machine and my full-size upright.
