Amazon products such as the Echo do not presently support multi-room playback. We are always trying to add new features, and we appreciate your attention. Our new Bose Music App is used to operate the Home Speaker 500.

    Hello, and thank you for your inquiry. There is a 3.5 mm (1/8 in) Aux input on the Smart Home 500. To connect a turntable and convert a phono level signal to a line level signal, you may require a pre-amp.

    Is it possible to link your TV to this gadget through WiFi?

    Answer: Apple TV Airplay is intended to function via WiFi, however it only works 10% of the time in my experience, as the other reviewer stated. Because my Bose Home 500 won't connect to Airplay regularly, I have to listen to audio through small projector speakers (behind me). However, hearing movies on this speaker once every two weeks is a joy when it works.

    Does the Series 3 speaker work as a WiFi access point, or does it rely on an existing access point in the home?

    Answer: I'm glad you inquired! The Bose SoundTouch 20 III is not a wireless access point that broadcasts an SSID. You'll need to connect to an existing network, either via WiFi or an ethernet connection, for the initial setup. After the first setup, you'll be able to stream audio from your computer, smartphone, or tablet directly to the speaker over Bluetooth.

    Is it possible to have one Pandora account on one setting and another on another?

    Yes, various Pandora accounts may be set up as distinct settings.

    Is there a battery in this item? or does it have to be plugged in all of the time?

    Answer: Libratone Zipp speakers are a good option if you want a battery-powered speaker with wifi and Bluetooth. Both the Bose SoundTouch and Libratone Zipp speakers are in my possession. Both feature excellent audio quality, multiroom capabilities, wifi, and Bluetooth, but the Libratone Zipp has a battery and 360-degree sound, making it far more practical in my daily life.

    What's the difference between series 2 and 3?

    The series III has Bluetooth instead of Airplay, which is the difference between the SoundTouch 20 II and III.
