    FAQS :

    What's in the package, exactly?

    The Breville® BES500BSS BambinoTM Plus comes with a 54mm tamper, a 54mm RazorTM Dosing tool, a 16-ounce frothing jug, a cleaning tool, a cleaning disc, and 1- and 2-cup dual-wall filter baskets.

Is there a hot water dispenser or wand for Americanos on this machine?

Yes, it is correct. Press the One Cup and Froth Control buttons at the same time, and hot water will pour out of the steam wand. To stop, press the One Cup button once again.

The lights continued to flicker after they were descaled. After resetting the factory espresso volume settings, I was able to extract two shots, but the two-shot light would not turn on. Help?

When the left and centre buttons alternately flash, that means 200 cycles have passed and it's time to descale. By hitting the right (steam) button, you can override this.

The manufacturer is being questioned. Is there any aluminium that comes into contact with the heat, or is it all stainless steel?

No, there is no metal in the Breville® BES500 BambinoTM Plus that comes into contact with water or espresso.

The machine appears to be blocked/clogged since the previous cleaning cycle, and no coffee is coming out-has anybody else experienced this?

Answer: That's exactly what happened to us! We were considering returning. Then my fiancé cleaned out the Porta filter head. We ran a few cycles, and everything seemed to be back to normal. I'd advise calling Breville support for troubleshooting after he's spoken with them a few times and tried a few things (honestly, I'm not sure what he attempted).

I've been a barista for five years and consider myself a bit of a snob. Can anyone vouch for the quality of the steam wand and the espresso shot?

I've had this tiny miracle for over two years and can tell you that both are fantastic. I get strong and creamy espresso shots, but it didn't happen overnight; you have to learn the technique, and the steam is quite strong, dry, and constant for milk frothing.

Is it possible to brew ordinary coffee on this as well?

Make an Americano for the closest cup of coffee to an American drip. You have a lovely espresso and add a shot of hot water to it. You can steam the milk if you don't like your coffee black. You'll end up with a thick, powerful cup of coffee that's far superior to any drip. I enjoy a wide range of coffee types, including drip, French press, and espresso. Except for the French press, this machine can generate a similar cup for everybody.

According to the Breville website, the Dual Temp Pro comes with a stainless steel milk container and other accessories. Is it included in this one?

Answer: Yes. For super-sized capuccinos, we ended up ordering a bigger jug. BTW, make sure you pick a newer model because the older ones have bad PID control and the brew temperature is never consistent. We made the mistake of purchasing an earlier model and never received the "promised" brew temperature of 93 degrees Celsius. With a lot of coaxing, preheating, and purging, the temperature should be between 77 and 81 degrees. The repair business indicated it couldn't be fixed. The newer ones, on the other hand, have covertly fixed the temperature problem without acknowledging that it ever existed.

I haven't been able to get it to create crema like my DeLonghi did. Do you have any recommendations?

Because of the 1600 watt heater on our Breville, it creates excellent crema. Much better than the two Delonghi models we were able to give away. Also, much better than our friend's 1000 watt Breville machine. Breville can help you with that. They offer an excellent repair policy; you can take it to any approved Breville repair shop or even send it to Breville, who will cover the shipping costs.
