    FAQS :

I work as a programmer. Is it possible to send raw data or commands to this through USB? If so, how so?

Yes, however, it requires a library such as LibUSB or WinUSB, as well as maybe a "filter" driver. Look for the raster command reference pdf on the Brother Downloads site for the data types to submit.

Is there any laminated clean room paper that we can use with this label printer?

Answer: I thought I'd weigh in because I have a comparable application. They don't sell laminated labels, but they do sell non-paper labels. It's known as film tape. In my situation, I use DK-2212 (black on white, 50' length) or DK-2606 (black on yellow, 50' length) continuous length labels. Keep in mind that these are more expensive than paper labels, but given the clean room application, I'm betting that spending 6X or more per label isn't such a huge deal when the alternative is a particle-shedding label. I can't guarantee that these film tape labels won't shed particles, but the rolls I bought felt like plastic with adhesive, so I'm betting they'll shed less than paper labels. If you need various labels (not the 2.4" wide rolls), just search Amazon for "brother film tape" and you should get a lot of options. They sell non-paper labels; search Amazon for "brother film tape" to see what options are available for your clean room use.

Is it possible to print barcodes with this printer?

The QL800 is capable of printing barcodes.

What type of label paper do you require for this? I need to print labels for my delivery goods.

Answer: The DK 1202 labels (2.4 in x 3.9 in) are used for shipping labels on the QL800.

I recently got this, but I'm disappointed because it only prints in black and red. Is it possible to print words in black alone?

Answer: The DK-2251 label included with the Brother QL-800 label printer allows you to print both red and black, but you may also print simply black with this label roll. For additional details, please contact Brother Customer Service.

Why does it require two lithium batteries? Does it work with a battery or an alternating current power supply?

Answer: This machine only works with an AC power cord. This model does not support the use of batteries.

    Are the labels self-stick?

Yes, there are many different sizes available, as well as non-adhesive stock. Labels are widely available for non-brother brands as well. Our printer has printed over 15,000 labels, and the device and cutter are still in excellent condition. I've had bad luck with Brother products in the past, but this printer is fantastic!

I understand that this is a wireless printer, but can it also be connected to a USB port to print as a backup?

Yes, it can connect to a computer through a USB cable. It also comes with a USB cable.

So, does this printer work with iPads?

Yes, this gadget is compatible with your iPad. It supports AirPrint and has a Brother iPrint&Label app that allows you to print from a tablet or mobile device.

Is this label maker capable of producing small (1square) price tag labels?

Answer: The Brother QL810W can print 0.9" square tiny labels.

Is this compatible with the Apple iPad? Can I also order bespoke oval labels in orange and black?

Answer: You may use this label printer with an iPad by utilizing the iPrint&Label app or AirPrint (Apple Devices). This machine lacks oval, orange, and black labeling.

Can I use my brother's QL 800 and a QL 810 on the same computer when they are in different parts of the store?

Yes, you may run both the Brother QL-810W and the Brother QL-800 label printers on the same computer. The QL-800 connects via USB, whereas the QL-810W connects wirelessly or through Ethernet. For additional details, please contact Brother Customer Service.

Does it produce 1" x 1" barcode labels?

    The Brother QL-810W cannot print a 1" x 1" barcode.
