    Is there a non-stick coating on the basket? Is it safe to put in the dishwasher?

    Answer: The nonstick coating is fantastic! It really works! When it comes to dishwasher safety, I use both hand cleaning and the dishwasher. I've been using it at least once a day for just over three years, and it gets washed once a week, maybe once every five days or so. The rest of the time, it merely needs shaking out or, at the at least, a quick swipe with a cloth and a couple of drops of Dawn, followed by a sprayer rinse. Allow to dry (and thonk the outer basket on the counter on a towel a few times on both top and bottom to remove water out of the small holes, then just replace and run a preheat to finish drying). It seems and functions as if it were brand new. I use it all the time as my main oven and cook a lot in it. I, on the other hand, never use metal utensils.

    What is the volume/noise level of this machine when it is cooking? Is it silent and deafeningly quiet or loud

    Answer: To be honest, it's barely perceptible, and it's only on for a short period of time at a time to irritate you. I've had dishwashers that were much louder. It reminds me of a noisy microwave. Alternatively, a squeaky air conditioner. The engine of an automobile is gently purring. It shouldn't be overly loud. Not at all. You could forget it's on after you've become used to it. It's a good thing it has an auto-shutoff feature. It turns off when the timer on whatever you're cooking runs out. So you won't have to worry about accidentally setting fire to your kitchen because you were distracted.

    What makes this model different from the newer model?

    Answer: I adore Cosori, but the current model is not one I would suggest. My first Cosori was the tiny one, which I liked, but after a year I decided that the larger one was really better for me, despite the fact that I was usually cooking for two people. I was about to place an order for the same 5.8 qt air fryer when I noticed the newer model with the silver front and thought it was so gorgeous, and of course it had to be even better because it was newer. RIGHT!! WRONG!! It's just gorgeous, and that's all there is to it. The settings are set quite differently and I found the icons to be smaller in size and just 9 presets instead of 11. On the newest models, there is a menu button that you must keep pressing until you reach the meal you wish to cook. If you don't mind repeatedly pressing the menu button till you reach "chicken" or "fish," etc., so be it. Unlike the earlier model, which required you to go right to the food symbol, press it, and then hit it again. You could think I'm being selfish, but why pay extra for a product that should be superior in every manner without the added hassle? However, I did notice that it was quiet, which was a positive thing. I'm returning the newer one and returning to the previous 5.8qt with 11 settings and simpler operation. I hope this information is useful.

    Is it a smoker?

    It does not emit any smoke. When I initially baked the bacon in it, I put a piece of bread on the tray since I heard that it would help. (I used the rotisserie basket to cook 20 oz of bacon by chopping the chunks in half.) a quarter of a pound of bacon at a time.) I air fried it the second time and didn't use bread, and it didn't smoke.

    What is the best meal to use and how can I use the dehydrate function?

    Answer: I purchased a cookbook specifically for the Vortex Plus. Simply choose "Dehydrate" and set the temperature to 160 degrees for beef jerky, according to the instructions. After that, set the timer for three hours. It's something I haven't tried yet.
