    FAQS :

    What about noise?

Answer: It's not nearly as loud as some of the ones I've used or heard. It swiftly heats the water to the desired temperature, as well as lowering the noise level. The noise is mild at first, but as the water gets closer to temperature, it becomes louder. I merely filled it to the brim with cold filtered water, and it took about 5 minutes to reach 200 degrees, with only about 3 minutes being "noisy," but I could still talk on the phone from a few feet away.

Have you ever experienced a problem with the text on the temperature control and start buttons disappearing? After only a few months, I was really unhappy to see this happen.

The answer is that I have two of these kettles. The first was in January of 2013. After a few months of everyday use, the writing on that one faded. The second was acquired in November 2016, and after a year and a half of daily usage, the writing on the newer one is still fine. Since then, I'm sure they've modified the key markings to make them more robust.

Is there any plastic in touch with the tea water in any way?

Answer: It appears that there are two options... One is a piece of white plastic cover that appears to hide an interior screw that secures the bottom of the handle, and the other is a piece surrounding the filter that water is spilled outside - the same design I discovered in my Costco's Hamilton Beach. I'd still call it a'minimal effect' situation (or marginal)... Keep in mind that certain plastics have no "carcinogenic influence" when they come into touch with water... It may be some form of silicon down there, but I can't reach down there. The upper one, which sits in the nozzle and is above the filter, is quite thin. For this level of exposure, I wouldn't be concerned about them. (If you're thinking about cancer.) I'm sure it'll be good in terms of durability - the bare minimum (.01 percent??)

    how cordless is it?

The kettle itself rises off the base, removing the need for a cable. Because the bottom stays cold, you may place it on any surface without danger of burning it. The chord, on the other hand, is located at the base. It's as wide as a kettle but just about a quarter inch thick.

So, where can we find a repair electrical module for the kettle's bottom? Mine won't stay on for more than 2 seconds, and it's just a year old!!

Cuisinart should be contacted. When I experienced an issue with my coffee machine, they were quick to respond.

Is the kettle's power source 110V or 220V?

The kettle's voltage is 110 volts, not 220 volts.

Is it true that they're as safe as coffee pots? In his dorm, my son's was seized. I'd like to show the dorm any and all safety information so he can get his bearings.

Answer: They're just as safe as coffee pots, but they carry a lot more liquid. His college may believe it can be used as a weapon in today's wild world - perhaps in the form of boiling water being flung at someone.

Is it set to yell out automatically?

For enhanced safety, auto shutdown and boil-dry protection are available.

Is it necessary to alter the filters?

Answer: I don't recall ever requiring filters, and I've never seen any electric kettles that do. This electric kettle was too hefty for me to keep. Best wishes.
