    FAQS :

I used fresh blueberries in the batter, and the blueberry remains are caked on top. Does anyone have any suggestions for tidying this up?

Answer: This is going to seem strange, but it is my answer to the identical problem. Leave the waffle iron on until the blueberries, or whatever fruit you've added, have completely dried out. Then make a futile "sacrificial" waffle. When it pops out, you'll have a clean waffle iron. This strikes me as a sort of "feature" that cleans itself. The next decision is whether to consume the sacrificial waffle.

    How does this unit weigh?

The weight of this unit is ten pounds.

Can you change the temperature on this?

Answer: Yes, a sliding lever adjusts up to 5, creating lovely brown waffles with waffle MIX. Set on 3 1/2, we love ours.

We want to utilize this with pancakes because we don't like hard waffles. Can you make soft waffles with pancake mix?

Yes, it produces delicious soft waffles; you will adore this machine.

Do the waffle plates come with it, or must they be purchased separately?

Answer: Plates come with this incredible waffle iron, which you will not regret purchasing. They are not removable. My wife and I can only eat one entire waffle with four squares.

Does this make four regular-sized waffles or four mini-waffles?

Answer: It makes four regular-sized waffles; however, mine broke after the third usage. The upper element does not function. I never moved or dropped the waffle iron. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I stayed at my cabin and baked waffles. And by Sunday, the topmost element had ceased to function. I'm quite frustrated.

Can you use this iron to make panini or grilled cheese sandwiches?

The pancake plate that comes with this waffle maker may be used to make panini, grilled cheese, or toastie sandwiches. Traditional grill markings would not be present on the panini, but the flavor would likely not be compromised. With English muffins, cheese, bacon, and eggs, I make breakfast sandwiches. A roll would work just fine. Use a lower toast setting when using rolls or thicker bread to ensure that it is thoroughly cooked and toasty.

Does it have a flat surface that can be used to cook pancakes on both plates?

My opinion is that this is a poor design. Two flat plates with the top opening completely in the flat position would be a far superior alternative. After that, you may cook pancakes, eggs, bacon, paninis, and other foods on both sides.

How much time does it take to heat up? How long does it take to cook each waffle?

In comparison to most other units, it takes almost twice as long to heat up and at least twice as long to cook a waffle or pancake.

Can you take the dishes off and put them in the dishwasher?

Reply: No. But I've discovered that's not a problem. The toughest thing I have to do once it cools is wipe up a few crumbs with a paper towel because the non-stick surface is so effective.

Do the waffle and pancake plates fit on top of each other, or are the plates removable for cleaning?

The waffle plate fits over the pancake plate, and the plates are removable for cleaning. My issue was that the bottom plate could not be fastened over the pancake plate. The waffle plate might theoretically just lie there, but I had the impression that it would eventually fall out and make a mess because it couldn't be secured. I gave mine back.
