    FAQS :

    Is this compatible with Fios?

Yes, our Deco M5 can be readily installed in router mode or AP mode to work with your existing FiOS Internet connection. Please keep in mind that if you already have a FiOS modem, you will most likely need to utilize it in combination with the Deco M5 System. We recommend that you check with your ISP to see if your Internet service currently uses a modem for connectivity.

Is it the same as the Deco W7200?

Answer: Although the Deco X68 (2-Pack) and Deco W7200 (2-Pack) have identical technical specs, they are available in different markets.

Which 5 GHz frequency band is utilized for backhaul? Is it better to have 1802 mbps or 1201 mbps?

The dedicated backhaul is at 5 GHz and 1201 Mbps. However, like with our previous tri-band Deco products, the system will use the other bands to provide backhaul data as necessary.

I switched off the 5G, but the Sonos speakers (2) are still missing. Any suggestions/assistance?

Answer: Some WiFi devices will not connect on 5G; therefore, turn off the 5G before connecting the device. After the device has connected and stored your WiFi, put the 5G back on and it will function perfectly. The 5G devices will then work on 5G, while the 2.4 devices will discover the network and work on 2.4.

Is there anything else I need to get this to work?

Answer: This will operate with your modem; no additional equipment is required. However, I would advise against utilizing a second device without an Ethernet wire connecting the two. It will function, but you will lose half of your speed because half of it will be spent connecting with the primary router.

What is the greatest distance between devices that can still function? Is it feasible to go between floors?

The maximum distance between nodes will vary depending on the form of your home and the materials used in its construction. For example, how many walls exist between them, what sorts of walls exist between them (drywall, plaster, brick, etc.), and which Wi-Fi bands are you attempting to link between the nodes? 2.4 GHz is more resistant to interference than 5 GHz, but it does not provide as much bandwidth.

    Is it compatible with the Tp-Link Deco X60 Wi-Fi 6 AX3000 whole-home mesh Wi-Fi system?

Answer: Yes, all of our Deco models are interchangeable. Please keep in mind that the Deco M5 uses Wi-Fi 5, but the Deco X60 uses Wi-Fi 6, so when utilizing these two models, we recommend planning your Deco deployment properly (e.g., using the X60 as the primary Deco if you wish to leverage its feature set for your main router).

Will having a unit on one floor and another on the second floor assist with dead areas not on their floor?

Answer: This will establish a mesh network that should avoid dead zones based on the type of construction in your location. I have a unit at the east corner of the second floor and west of the center, and it gives coverage with no dead zones.
