Answer: it cleans even palm fragments off the bottom of our pool, not to mention the leaves and small rocks that are kicked in.
In my perspective, the bristles are not robust enough to harm a vinyl pool liner.

Answer: We have a pool cleaning system with pop-up jets.
With that arrangement, you get a rather high 'hump' in the middle of the bottom, and I've never had any problems with it getting stuck there or anyplace else.

The bag is really squished within the Dolphin Premier filter chamber, on top of a plastic filter screen.
The picture of a large circular bag filled with pool debris/leaves is deceptive.
