    FAQS :

Do I leave my store-bought inserts in my Dr. Scholl's model # CF440 sneakers for the greatest results, or do I remove them and replace them?

Answer: Keep your sneaker insoles in your sneakers.  Because the CF440 is primarily a heel/arch support and sneaker inserts are so thin, there's no reason to use both.

    Are the pads machine-washable?

Answer: The insoles are rubber and cannot be washed, but they are fantastic; I'm going to get another pair soon because I can't work without them; they are lifesavers for my feet.

Is the 440 the tallest arch support available? I pronate excessively.

The 440s are designed primarily for persons who have flat feet or who are overweight, causing their feet to flatten out. They have robust plastic arch supports throughout the center and heel regions of the orthotic. But, as I said in my review, the orthotics have a nasty propensity of scooting up in your shoes. As a result, the plastic portions are displaced and pressure is applied to the wrong parts of your feet. The heel section, in particular, goes beneath the arch, giving the impression of walking on a giant ball bearing. If Dr. Scholl's used an anti-slip material on the bottom of their orthotics to keep them from sliding about in the shoe,

Do you start by removing the original sole from the shoe? Or do you just put it on top of the shoe's existing sole?

The answer is yes. I've completed both. Normally, the old insert is removed. I've used some on top of an older, stretched shoe with a thin pad.

Which insert is suitable for flat feet?

The cf440 insoles are ideal for flat feet. I have some of those in my shoes. The CF430 should also work fine.

Is it small enough for a lady's size 5?

Answer: I'm a size 9-1/2, but you should take the online quiz or visit a store with a Dr. Scholl's fit machine. These have done wonders for me; I no longer suffer from low back pain.

Do you remove the shoe inserts?

Answer: I wear them in Nike running shoes and Sketchers Memory Foam shoes. It works perfectly in both pairs of shoes with the Dr. Scholl's insert inside.

Will these fit in a western boot?

Answer: I haven't tried them in my western boots yet, but they fit great in my dress boots and I'm sure they'd work well in western boots.  These are really nice orthodics for the price, not as good as the custom $600 pair I use in my work boots on a regular basis, but adequate for all of my other shoes.
