    FAQS :

What Amazon sanding bands are compatible with the Dremel 3000? And can I use this dremel to cut my dog's toenails?

It truly depends on what you use it for, though. Other than for wood trimming, which is a terrific application for it, I haven't used it much. If it weren't for the fact that I had to buy some extra sanding bands, the sanding bands that came with would have been more than enough for me. Regarding clipping dogs' toenails, I bought an electric dog toenail clipper that was essentially just a dremel tool with a shield around it. Both of these are disliked by my dog, therefore I get it done at the vet's office. Sorry, I hope this helps in some little way.

How do the 3000 and the 4000 compare?

Since the shaft lock hasn't been mentioned, I wanted to add this older question's critical distinction. A pin used in the 3000 shaft lock only barely contacts with a shaft hole. Due of the limited engagement, the design is quite flimsy and doesn't allow you to tighten the collet too much. If there is any major resistance to the task you are attempting, you are left with either tools that can spin or a damaged shaft lock pin if you attempt to tighten the collet sufficiently. Although the pin can be changed, you'll just be installing a new pin with the same subpar design. The shaft lock on the 4000 really locks the shaft for tool changes using a gear on the shaft and a tapered pin that engages well with the gear. This eliminates the possibility of harming the shaft lock mechanism while allowing you to tighten the collet considerably further. This design is much superior. In my perspective, this alone makes the 4000 worth the extra few dollars. You're spending money on a tool with a lot more durable construction.

Can it be used to engrave text on wood, such as names?

Yes, engraving can be done with it. Videos on all the various things one can perform are available on the Dremel website and on YouTube.

Does anybody know what makes the 8220 1/28 vx 2/28 different? Does the 2/28 come with an extra battery? A replacement battery costs only $40.

Answer: The 8220-1/28 and 8220-2/28 each come with one attachment (565 Multipurpose Cutting Kit) and two attachments, respectively (65 Multipurpose Cutting Kit and the A550 Shield Rotary Attachment).

Does this include the tools required to clip a dog's nails?

Yes, but I also bought the 225-01 Flex shaft attachment, which makes clipping nails a snap.

Will this cut ceramic tiles, glass, and stone, or should I stick with the plug-in model?

Answer: I had the first corded model before purchasing my own. The batteries in this tool last a long time, and it is just as strong if not stronger than that! With this tool and the proper accessories, finding the perfect tool for the job is not a problem.

Can I use EZ Lock accessories with this Dremel?

He confirmed that it is compatible with the EZ lock accessories after I bought it for my spouse.
