    FAQS :

Is the resolution 4K? There are numerous allusions to 4K input and enhancement, but it is never stated explicitly that the projected image is 4K quality.

Answer: No, the output is not 'genuine' 4K; for that, you need a projector with a resolution of 3840 x 2140 pixels. Some have claimed that Sony is the only manufacturer of true 4K projectors; this is not the case at this moment. JVC also offers native 4K projectors as well as pseudo-4K projectors that use e-shift (similar to Epson's 4K Enhancement) technology to produce a pseudo-4K image even if the projector's native resolution is not real 4K.

How does the Epson Home Cinema 5040UB perform when paired with the latest Apple TV 4K HDR unit? Is there a significant difference between it and prior Apple TVs?

Answer: It works flawlessly with Apple TV 4K HDR.

Will this have 3D capabilities? I see the logo, but it's not mentioned in the description or title.

Answer: This projector not only produces 3D, but it does EXCELLENT 3D. That is just the SECOND projector or TV with LCD imaging that I've used (and I've used over 40 models in the previous four years) that does excellent 3D with no ghosting or un-fused sections of images (looks like a 2 layer image instead of 3D, but only for some part of the image, not the whole picture). Earlier models in this series had poor 3D performance; however, this model and the 6040UB have excellent 3D performance (using 3D Cinema mode, high lamp mode, contrast set to 90, and Super-White set to ON) (for 2D and 3D).

To turn it on or off, you must use Google Assistant. Is the LAN module required? Is it permissible to use a WiFi power outlet?

If you use a wifi outlet plug and turn off the power at the plug, the lens won't close and the fan won't be able to cool the bulb.As a result, the components would degrade quickly.

Is anyone else's Apple TV 4K box blacking out during menu navigation?

Yeah, if you did not activate HDR, enable 4K SSDR, and check Match dynamic range, your projector will reset every time it transitions from HD to 4K... The menus are in HD, and the videos are most likely in 4K... The switch takes roughly 6–8 seconds, during which time you will see black.

Is it possible to put this unit on the ceiling? It appears to have numerous spots to screw a hanger into, but nowhere in the instructions does it mention a ceiling.

Answer: Mine is suspended from the ceiling using a universal ceiling mount. After hanging it, you must invert the image so that your mind does not become jumbled. This is accomplished using the projector settings.

Is this Bluetooth-enabled (for attaching wireless speakers)?

No, it does not. A home theater multi-channel receiver should connect to the audio-video source(s) as well as this projector via HDMI.If you want to use Bluetooth wireless speakers, connect a Bluetooth transmitter (available here on Amazon) to the receiver's line-in or headphone output.

Is the wireless transmission in 4K resolution? I'd like to get this for my Xbox One X, but how can I be sure it's 4K if I use the wireless transmitter?

Answer: Yes, but the wifi never stayed connected, even when I was only 10 feet away and had a clear line of sight from the projector to the transmitter.I eventually changed my receiver to the latest HDMI standard, which supports 4K data. The wireless signal is flawless. Description: Epson 5040UB vs 5050UB
