    FAQS :

When sealing the bag, does it matter whether side of the bag is facing up (rough or smooth)?

Answer: We recommend placing the bag on the sealing bar with the smooth side facing down.

Is the 5200 identical to the 5480 or 5380?

Answer: Almost entirely. The 5200 and 5380 differ in terms of the quantity and kind of bags included with the machine. The 5480 includes a "pulse" mode that simply lowers the rate at which the vacuum takes air from the bag, which is beneficial if you don't want to crush delicate items. Personally, I've never had difficulty hitting the "seal" button to properly cease vacuuming during typical pump operation.

Is this machine equipped with an accessory?

Yes, it includes an attachment for sealing jars or zip bags from food saver.

Could this technique be applied with fresh herbs? How does this work in the case of fresh vegetables?

Answer: Seal and freeze your favourite vegetables in a vacuum bag for up to three years. Simply follow these guidelines: Before vacuum packing vegetables, they must be blanched. This procedure inhibits enzyme activity, which may result in the loss of flavour, colour, and texture. Blanch veggies in boiling water or in the microwave until they are tender but not mushy. Blanching times for leafy greens and peas range from 1 to 2 minutes; for snap peas, sliced zucchini, or broccoli, 3 to 4 minutes; for carrots, 5 minutes; and for corn on the cob, 7 to 11 minutes. Immerse veggies in cold water to halt the cooking process after blanching. Finally, pat veggies dry with a cloth before vacuum sealing. Blanching helps preserve the flavour, colour, and texture of foods. Freeze veggies for 1–2 hours, or until they are completely frozen. After the veggies have been frozen, remove the baking sheet and vacuum package them in a FoodSaver Bag. Reintroduce them to the freezer once they have been vacuum sealed. To freeze individual servings, arrange the blanched veggies in separate sections on a baking sheet and spread them apart so they do not touch. This keeps them from collapsing into a single huge block. Additionally, FoodSaver Bags may be transferred directly from the freezer to the microwave or boiling water. Before freezing, add a pat or two of butter and some herbs to the FoodSaver Bag. After that, simply boil the entire bag to create a delectable vegetable side dish. Note: During storage, cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, and turnips) produce gases naturally. As a result, they must be stored solely in the freezer following blanching.

Are you aware of the distinction between the 4840 and this 4440?

The only distinction between the V4440 and V4840 variants is the button positioning. Both are identical in terms of features and functions.

Is it possible that this model overheated and needed to be shut down to cool before continuing?

Answer: If you are sealing a large number of bags fast, the seal heater will require a few seconds to cool down every now and then. However, after 5 – 10 seconds, you can restart. I've never had to turn off the Foodsaver. And we utilise it in large quantities. I recently completed $450 worth of meat that I purchased, took home, and split into portions for the freezer.

Which roll and bag size is recommended?

Answer: While we prefer 8" and 11" rolls, you may also use a variety of different size bags with this FoodSaver.

How about moist or juicy food?

Answer: This vacuum sealer does provide a moist/dry food mode for optimal sealing, which automatically changes the seal level for a secure, dependable, airtight seal. We recommend that when vacuum sealing meats and/or fish with a lot of fluids, you pre-freeze them for 1 - 2 hours prior to vacuum packing in a FoodSaver Bag to ensure the meats and fish retain their juices and form and to assist ensure a good seal. When preparing individual servings, lay them on a baking sheet and freeze for 1 - 2 hours. Remove from the freezer and vacuum-seal in a FoodSaver Bag.
