    Could someone get burned by touching the outside of the oven while it's baking? I'm worried about my two children, ages three and five.

    Answer: Because it is a toaster oven, there is radiate heat. The top and sides become hot to the touch and, if left on top, can melt a plastic bag. When compared to other toaster ovens, it does not get too hot. It's fantastic as a toaster oven. It's great for bread and small baking/roasting jobs.

    What is the height of the door when it is open?

    Answer: It appears to be 14.25" from surface to handle. You don't have to make more room for your fingers to grip the handle if you don't want to. You can reach through without needing extra clearance if you grab the handle palm up.

    What are the dimensions of this?

    Answer: When open, the total height to the top of the handle is 14 1/2 inches, and the depth is 11 inches measured around the outside of the unit. That being said, this is the best toaster oven I've owned in the last three years, out of four or five.

    When my fan warmed up, it became quite loud...is the fan too loud for other people?

    Answer: The fan was quiet for the first 6 months or so, but then it started to sound out of tune. When it warms up, the sound improves (almost disappears). It's a fantastic little oven that I use on a daily basis. Even though I clean it every time, there are stains on the interior from where meat juices have splattered and baked on that I can't seem to get rid of (will try oven cleaner). I believe the fan has become lightly coated with these same juices and is now out of balance, which is why it is now quite noisy. To clean the fan blades, you'd have to remove the oven's side. I don't think the fan does much, so if I don't want to wait for the noise to die down, I'll just use the regular bake setting.

    There is a disparity in the reviews. Does it get really hot outside or not?

    Answer: No, it's not particularly hot outside. After making toast, I touched it with my bare hands and it was just warm. The oven has two walls. However, I imagine it would get hotter if you turned it up to maximum for an hour. I'm not sure if that's a good idea for any toaster oven.

    Is it possible to use this toaster oven underneath kitchen cabinets? How much space is required for clearance? Inches, top, and back from the wall?

    Answer: The company's use and care guide does not include any distance measurements for clearance space in the safeguards section, nor does it recommend not using it underneath kitchen cabinets. To allow for unobstructed opening with the roll-top door in the "up" position, at least 14 inches of clearance is required. Allow at least an inch of clearance behind the oven so that the door can open completely without touching a wall or back-splash tile.
