    FAQS :

Is this compatible with Echo Plus or does it require a separate hub?

It does not necessitate the use of a particular hub. With Alexa, you can make it a skill. As a security feature, you'll need to establish a passcode. You don't want someone to say "Alexa, unlock the door" for your door to open. You must first ask Alexa to open the door, then enter the passcode.

Is the touch screen the only difference between the 99380-001 halo wi-fi smart lock keyless entry and the less priced kwikset 99380-001 halo wi-fi smart lock keyless entry?

You are accurate; yet, the touch screen is marketed as "more secure." I'm not sure I agree, but the argument goes that the keys on the keypad get dusty or the numbers wear off. Some believe this is a security vulnerability since it reveals the four keys in your code. According to reports, a burglar can experiment with different combinations and breach your code if they can figure out which four keys have the greatest wear. The touchscreen contains a feature that allows you to "hide" finger prints, making your code more safe. It's up to you to decide whether or not that warrants the extra price.

I am now based in Athens, Greece. Will I be able to use and unlock the application, or does it just operate with firms or networks in the United States or Canada?

Answer: As long as you have access to the internet, it should work. Regardless of where you are,

Is it compatible with 2 3/4" thick doors, and if so, which thick kit should I order? (I found two contradictory responses on this.)

My door is 2 inches thick. I'm not sure how a 2"3/4 thick door works.

    Is there an auto-lock feature?

Answer: When you get both yes and no replies, it's likely to be perplexing! I just finished installing the lock. It is controlled by two different applications. Schlange Home and Amazon Key It's a little perplexing, but you'll need both. Auto Lock is available in both applications. You have the option of choosing between 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, or 4 minutes. It's not easy to find your way through the apps. Go to the main menu, pick "Settings," select the lock name (Encode if you didn't alter it), and look for Auto Relock. Choose "Auto Lock Delay" from the options icon at the bottom of the page in the Schlange App (using iOS; not sure about Android). I hope this information is useful.

Will a pre-programmed code still function if there is a power outage?

Yes, it is correct. It is powered by batteries. During a power outage, however, you won't be able to use the app to access the lock because your wifi will most likely be down as well. The typical lock/unlock functionality is unaffected by the lack of power.

    Is the keypad lighted?

Answer: Without inputting a number, press the "House" button on the lower left hand side of the keypad, and it will light up.

Is it possible to have two of them in my home, one for the front entrance and one for the back door?

Yes, I have two in one of my homes and another in another, and I control them all using the same phone app.
