    FAQS :

What is the length of the cord?

The string length to the base of the handle is 8'-4 1/2". I hope this was useful.

Is this 50/60hz or simply 60hz rated?

Answer: It does important whether the equipment is rated for 50hz or 60hz, particularly when motors or timers are involved. Motors, particularly variable-speed motors, can endure a performance loss of approximately 18%, and some motors will actually burn up (60hz rated run on 50hz). They will not keep accurate time using Timers. In relation to your 50/60hz question, I would contact the manufacturer.

What is the offset on the blade side?

Answer: If you mean offset from blade to shoe, I believe it was slightly about 5". The other side is around 1.5" long.

Will this saw sever 3/4" bluestone? (slate).

Answer: Perhaps with the proper blade... I'm not sure if you need coolant while cutting. I believe it is the blade, rather than the saw, that is significant. Circular saws are not intended for use with coolant... Water and electricity = startling end result. I performed a short search and couldn't come up with any 7 1/4" masonary blades.

What is the purpose of the cylindrical item that slides along the power cord?

Answer: It protects the power cable from sharp bending and cracking of the insulation around the wire, as well as from ripping out of the saw!

Magnesium is a flammable element. The fact that this circular saw is composed of a flammable substance frightens me. Has anyone been burned by this circular saw?

Solid magnesium ignites at around 950°F. If the temperature around your saw is approaching a thousand degrees, you have more problems than a fire in your saw housing.

Is there a way to connect a shop vac/dust collector to this?

This was the one disappointing element of purchasing this saw. I can't believe how the guard handle has blocked the dust exit. It's quite frustrating.

    Where is saw manufactured?

The saw is manufactured in China. The blade that comes with it is Japanese-made.
