Motorola MB7621 vs Arris SB6190: Comparison And Differences, Similarities

Speed is measured in Mbps (megabits per second), and it is important to get a modem that can support your current or desired internet speed. FAQS :

Does this modem's four Ethernet ports all send out the same amount of bandwidth, or do only some of them work at their fullest capacity?

Answer: The Motorola MB8600 cable modem I got in May 2022 only has one ethernet port, not four. I'm disappointed because having an extra port is great for troubleshooting with a laptop connected directly to the MB8600, skipping the separate router that connects the rest of the network to the MB8600.

Confirming that, even though the modem has more than one LAN port, only one device can be connected to it? you can't, say, connect your computer and a router at the same time?

Answer: The MB8600 will let one device connect. You can hook up your PC to the MB8600, or you can hook up a router to it. If you pay for and get more than one IP address from your service provider, which is very rare, you can connect up to four devices directly to the MB8600.

I also need wifi, what do you recommend?

Answer: Any WiFi router will work with the MB8600 modem. Given the speed of the MB8600, you should use at least an AC1900 router. Depending on the other devices in your network, you might be able to use a wireless speed that is even faster than AC1900.

Will it work with MAC filtering?

Answer: A router does MAC filtering. Your Internet service provider (ISP) could set it up as a router, but you wouldn't be able to change anything. This device should only be used as a modem, and MAC filtering should be set up on a different router.

Is anyone on spectrum extreme internet? Did you get faster speed without upgrading your account or internet service?

Answer: I have the plan with 100 mps. With their equipment, the speed test was right at 100 mps, but streaming to more than one device caused problems. If you switch to this modem and an aftermarket wireless router, your speeds will average 120/20 mps and you'll be able to stream 4K content to your TV, phone, tablet, etc., without any buffering. Motorola MB7621 vs Arris SB6190

Is the sb1690 model good for 400 or 600 mbps internet plans?

Answer: With this modem, our systems at home are so much better. I'm very happy with this ARRIS SURFboard. To switch over, you will have to call Comcast, since only they (or whoever you're using) can start the set up.
