    Is it just me, or does this appear to be far too simple to defeat or steal?

    Answer: I believe that all cameras will be prone to the same possible dangers as this one in terms of theft or defeat. The difference is that this camera is of greater resolution and takes better snaps and images, so any robbers or vandals will be more likely to be identified. Obviously, getting a higher quality camera comes at a higher price, so I understand your concern that the camera is so good that someone might steal it just to get it, but rest assured, most burglars would not risk being caught on camera for a used security camera when there are more low-risk options available.

    Nest wants $600 per year to record my three cameras. Is there a less expensive way to preserve video?

    Answer: After reading all of the comments about the price of Google-nest cameras, I'm curious as to why people would pay to have a wired IP camera system installed that connects to a central NVR unit with a hard drive to record weeks of footage for free and can be viewed live and recorded using a free APP...yes, there is a cost to installing cables, cameras, and the main unit, but everything is secure and centralised. Other wifi cameras with cables to power camera using adapter connect to outlets, this cameras have a slot for small SD so no central unit to record (NVR), but it will record in each camera for FREE and APP free, and you may have a large mini SD card and record more time. In any case, If you know how to run wires and drill holes, you can do it yourself; if not, hire someone to do it for you and they will offer you a one-year warranty on the installation. I thought it unnecessary to spend $120 for one camera or $350 for four cameras for cloud storage. Ring and Nest cameras are also more expensive than other wifi cameras available, such as LTS and GNS.

    How do I set it up?

    Answer: Connect the camera to your computer's USB port and let the automatic installation take over. (You may also manually search the camera/drive for the ".exe" and launch it.) It's fairly straightforward. (To gain access to your WiFi network, simply have your password handy.) Then, when prompted, disconnect your camera from your computer.     Answer: I have three Dropcams, one with CVR and three without. I do receive notifications from all four, but these security "alerts" might take up to an hour to arrive.
