    FAQS :

Why does your description say 4x ethernet ports when there is only one?

Answer: Actually, because Amazon displays the same questions/descriptions for a variety of products. The CM1200 has four ports, whereas the CM1000 only has one.

Can you use one wan port to your computer for a direct connection and one wan port to the router with the cm1200 and xfinity residential cable internet?

The CM1150V and CM1200 both have four Ethernet ports. That is not to say you do not require a router. These four Ethernet ports, which use link aggregation and two or more different IP addresses, will support future multi-gig services. The CM1100 includes two Ethernet ports for future link aggregation. If you need a multi-gig cable modem (2.5 Gbps) without aggregation, the CM2000 or CM2050V with XFINITY voice support is the way to go.

So, up to 2gbit modem with 1gbit network ports (drumroll please). Not 2.5 GB. Which engineer was to blame for this blunder?

Which "engineer" is it? It was most likely "beancounters" in the marketing world. This CM1200 model includes four Ethernet ports. However, only two of them are operational. The first two ports can be Link Aggregated to achieve download speeds of up to 2 Gbps. The other two ports are merely decoration to entice gullible buyers to purchase this model. Not to mention, Netgear only certifies this model with Xfinity at 800 Mbps. That's what it says in the advertisement. (as well as on the Netgear website)

I understand that this modem is only compatible with Xfinity. However, has anyone tried this with spectrum? (also known as Time Warner Cable).

NO, not the business service; they refused to provide provisioning for my business account. ** Despite the fact that the box says "CableLabs DOCSIS 3.0 Certified to work with Cable Internet Providers like XFINITY from Concast, Spectrdumb, Cox & more" (read less). Simply wonderful. According to the wicked quick connect step-smother sheet, it did not provision. I called Netgear tech support, who couldn't copy a 13-character serial number correctly after 4 tries. Same with the MAC, omg, same with the TA#, on and on for twenty minutes. Then I'm thrown under the bus and told I need to buy support for the next 30 days based on my receipt. "We want you to have the best (read mediocre) service, call us first, we're here to yelp!" says their enclosure. BS, BS, BS. AWFUL DOG! There will be no biscuit. When I got around to installing it, Walmphart's 30-day return period had expired, so they denied my return-to-beg-for-a-refund-forever-stand-in-line-like-a-poor-consumer line. UP FOR SALE New and never used. In box. All documentation is included. Quick start sheet with wrinkles. Plastic wrap that has wrinkles. Make a fair offer.

Will this modem function with AT&T U-verse? Has anyone attempted it?

No, U-verse operates on a different type of system and should not be compatible with it.

Are suddenlink connections compatible with cm1150v?

Answer: The Netgear CM1150V is specifically designed to work with Comcast. Anything other than Comcast is suspect at best and unlikely to work.

Will this function with the xFi pods?

Answer: I bought the CM1200, which has a download speed of 2000 mbps, so I'd think so, but I'm not sure because I'm not using xfinity xfi pods. I'm using the Eero WiFi Pro 6 gateway in conjunction with my Netgear CM1200 Cable Modem, and it works flawlessly.
