    Is it possible to utilize the screen for something other than the personal trainer?

    The monitor's resolution is restricted. It's a touchscreen, after all. It also has a direct connection to the rower. A second screen may be connected through HDMI. However, you are unable to input (like from an Apple TV or Blu-Ray player). The display turns on and immediately loads iFit. This occurs whether or not you have a subscription. Some functions of the monitor are still available without a membership. To do anything with it, you'll have to unscrew everything and invalidate the guarantee. I bought an iPad stand and attached it to the rower. I row on my own (no live trainer) while watching videos on my iPad.

    Is it possible to use headphones with this?

    Yes, you can. A headphone port is available for wired earphones. Bluetooth is not supported. I did, however, purchase a $30 Bluetooth transmitter to connect into the headphone socket and use with Bluetooth wireless headphones.
