    FAQS :

I took 3 readings(154, 171, 134) all taken within 5 minutes. Might machine be defective?

This happened to me also. I've had this particular model Omron for several years now but lately its been giving me very high readings and I thought it was me. I called my Dr and asked to come in so they could take my blood pressure and then take it with my machine. Thank god it showed up. Their professional office reading was 128 over 80 and taken a 2nd time opposite arm was 132/82. Then I took BP in office with this model Omron and the reading was 162/100 which is what sent me to the Dr in the first place out of concern. So this machine is no longer reliable and because its helpful for me to monitor my own BP I have to invest in another. I follow directions to a T so something else must wear out in these machines.

    Is it manual?

Hi- it is self-inflating, not manual.

    battery operated?

Frankly I am glad it takes batteries. Owning dozens of electronic items from kitchen tools to pc's and other IT stuff as well as shavers, chargeable batteries, etc etc, I have dozens of power cords. Have a tough time finding one for a device I have not used in a long time, I have tried to organize by using Velcro to keep cords with devices but still end up with hundreds of dollars of dead devices. Most do not make it easy to find the voltage and amp ratings on the device and worse on the transformer on the cord.

Can you download readings to computer?

The previous version of Omron had a usb port that you could download the data to your computer. The Omron program would give you a data spreadsheet and graph. None of the new and improved Omron products does this anymore!

Will this monitor show your blood pressure if the heart beat is irrigular?

Yes, to a certain point. I have a-fib and a-flutter. Usually the monitor works fine. However, just this weekend I had a particularly nasty episode, coupled with an incredibly rapid heart beat, and sometimes the monitor couldn't handle it and started to throw crazy error messages. But when you think about it, technically, at such times, it is still telling me valuable information about the crisis at hand: get help, woman!

Does the app allow data to be printed?

I encourage anyone interested in using the app to download it before you buy. You have to make an account which you will have to give permissions to. Your phone number and other personal data is obtained by the app and sent to the website. I don't like having my info out there like that where it can be hacked, compromised or sold off to other companies. I don't use the app and so I could have saved some bucks going without it.

Are you able to connect the omron bp761 wireless bp monitor to microsoft healthvault (even if thru omron online app)? Omron says no...

HRM USA would suggest you confirm this with Omron. They can be reached at 1-877-216-1333.
