How long does the charging process take? My device appears to take between 12 and 24 hours before the blue lights cease flashing. I have depleted it until the orange light turns on, and then it takes all day and part of the night for the flashing to cease. In the few hours preceding this charge, I have experienced numerous others.

Specifically, the time required for the initial charge after unboxing.
I always allow my new electric toothbrushes 24 hours for their initial full charge, unless they indicate that they are at least 50% charged after 10 hours.
This brush still indicates a low charge, as the orange light illuminates whenever I press the power button.
Sure hope I did not buy a damaged unit.
In addition, the instructions claims that the blue button will stop flashing after approximately 30 seconds when the brush is fully charged and placed on the stand.
Is it the toothbrush or the charger that is 110v? If it's the charger, I may use my older, 220v model from the UK (Oral-B 4000)
Answer: Yes it is dual voltage.
Outside of the United States, all you need is an additional Oral-B 240v charging base. The Oral-B device itself is dual voltage (German-made), but only the US charging base supports 110v.
Therefore, if you are updating your Oral-B outside of the United States, your current 240v base (model/type nu-3757) will function properly.
Who has employed both? I've been using sonicare for years; are the spinning and plunging of an oral b really different?
I had a Sonicare Diamondclean for two and a half years.
It was the least impressive $200 toothbrush ever produced.
Because my teeth never felt clean, I was always required to brush them again, sometimes even three times.
The Sonicare vibrates minimally and does not rotate.
The Oral-B rotates and possibly vibrates (not sure), but if I do a thorough job (not a rushed job), my teeth feel incredibly clean, much, much cleaner than with the Sonicare.
I greatly favour the Oral B.
As others have remarked, the only issue is the looooooooong charging time.
how many brush heads do you receive?
Answer: I received a total of 3 heads with the Oral B 7000 unit, including the regular "Oral Replacement brush" and the Whitening and Cross Action brushes.
Amazon's PRODUCT DESCRIPTION stated that this order would include a total of five brush heads, but I only received three. The text description stated that two normal brush heads and three additional brush heads would be included, but I only received a total of three.
I received an email with a $15 discount on Amazon DASH for a scheduled reorder of brush heads.
I also received a discount code with my shipment.
The unit cleans exceptionally well for its initial use.
It appears to be of decent construction.
It is noisier than my previous Oral-B device, which I adored.
That lasted almost seven years.
I have received the timer device but have not yet connected it to my smartphone or for feedback.
Not sure if I want to go Bluetooth just yet, as I assume it will inform me and other marketing entities that I ate too much candy yesterday -and that I need to wash my teeth more to prevent cavities....
Can I use this in Bangkok, where the electricity is different?
Answer: I just got the Oral B 8000, which can be charged in two ways:
1. The white charger that came with the phone does not work with 220v/240v; it only works with 110-130v and 50-60Hz.
2.The travel case can be used as a second way to charge this unit.
The power adapter that comes with the travel case is a half-circle with two holes (the entire adapter cord is black coloured - I initially missed it).
So, the standing charger won't work in other countries, but the travel case and power case adapter that come with it DO support 220v/240v and can be used in other countries with an adapter (no transformer needed).
Does it turn off in 2 minutes?
Answer: It vibrates once every 30 seconds and three times at the 2-minute mark, but it doesn't turn off.
My routine is outer left (vibrate), inner left (vibrate), outer right (vibrate), and then inner right (((vibrate))
Can you just brush your teeth with the 8000 without using the app on your phone?
Answer: You can, but it's a waste of money to do so.
There are cheaper Oral-B toothbrushes that have almost all of the same features as the 8000, except that they don't have Bluetooth or an app.
I've been using Oral-B products for about 10 years, and other than those features, being black, and having a much better travel case, it's basically the same toothbrush I bought over 10 years ago.
The brush heads, buttons, and charger are all the same.
But the older ones have a physical clock/timer, which this model doesn't have.
Still, I'm really happy with the app overall, except for one big problem: when you switch modes, it resets the timer! It's helping me a lot to take better care of my teeth.
There is also a "Fun Zone" that helps teach kids how to brush their teeth better, but I've never used it and don't plan to.
