Yeah, the pump died after 20 months. I'm using the stand to charge and dry the shaver after cleaning it manually. The station is only available as a repair part; however, it costs $100 plus shipping. The new foil is claimed to be less irritating.
Does anyone know why the instructions advise unplugging after charging? I thought lithium-ion batteries couldn't be overcharged.

Nevertheless, there is a potential issue if you do not unplug. Some believe that if a battery is held at 100% charge, it will not live as long as one that is partially depleted before recharging. Hence, if you do not unhook and store the shaver in a clean station, the battery will remain at 100%. MY SOLUTION - Keep the station plugged in, rinse the shaver after use, PUT IN STATION AND TIP SHAVER FORWARD SO CHARGE CONTACTS DO NOT TOUCH, and charge clean and dry every 4 days.
What's the difference between the LV65 and the LV61?
Answer: This shaver has a sensing option that reportedly regulates the motor speed based on how thick your beard is, with the premise being that some hairs would be trimmed better at a slower speed. With relation to that... First, I don't believe it—quicker oscillations equal better cuts. It cuts if the hair goes through the foil. Second, if you shave with foam, it will always recognize your beard as requiring maximum power. Finally, even with a steel beard, it can't travel faster than 14,000 RPM.
How do you charge the shaver?
