Is a hub required to link them to Alexa?
Answer: I have one that came with my Echo Show 10, and it works well with the other Echos.
However, you must have an Echo with Zigbee functionality, which includes the older Echo Plus, the current 4th generation Echo, or the Echo Show 10.
