    Answer: It all depends on how you define calm. In my 60 years of shaving, this is the quietest shaver I've ever had. Because of the rushing water, a blade shaver generates greater noise.

    Answer: If you have the wireless version (SP9860/86) of the shaver, you can only recharge it wirelessly since the shaver does not have a chord outlet.

    Is it possible to shave the head with this?

    Answer: I can't think of anything it wouldn't do. It's the finest and most accurate electric shaver I've ever used. It isn't as near as a Mach 5 or other razor, however.

    Is this razor supported by a stand?

    While you won't be able to charge the 9000 batteries with the charging stand from a prior model, you can use the stand to place the shaver on your counter top rather of having it bounce about in a drawer and be destroyed. The fit in the stand, however, isn't ideal, but with a little fiddling, the charger stand will securely retain the shaver. It's outrageous that Norelco released a $300 shaver without a stand, given how simple it would be to create one. I couldn't locate a shaving head guard either, but I had one from my old shaver. I'm baffled by Phillips' design choices. They used to make shavers with an unneeded, space-hogging cleaning bath/stand, but it has been phased away with the 9000 since all the clipping catcher and cutter head need is a quick rinse under warm water. However, no stand or cutter head guard is included now to protect the pricey new head from harm as it rattles about in a drawer. It doesn't make any sense to me.
