    FAQS :

In a one-bedroom apartment, I have two dogs, two cats, and largely laminate floors with some rugs. This or 960?

Answer: I have a coworker who has this one and raves about it just as much as I do. She has four dogs and two cats. The 960 appears to be identical, but it has a wall barrier and additional objects. If you don't want it to travel in a certain location, use the wall barrier. To save money, I put a laundry basket where I don't want it to go.

What about human hair that is long? We have four girls with long hair that have trouble wrapping their hair around vacuum brushes.

Answer: The brushes are designed to prevent hair from becoming tangled on them. Weekly maintenance and cleaning of the brushes and core robot is recommended.

Is it possible for the E5 to cross high thresholds (1/2 inch) between rooms with various types of flooring, such as hard woods and tile or carpet?

Answer: The Roomba e5 has a 5/8" clearance and should be able to transition up to 1/2 thresholds, carpets, and floor height differences. It helps if the transition is gradual rather than abrupt.

How well does it handle pet hair? I have three huskies and never feel like I clean the floors thoroughly enough.

Answer: This is exactly my issue; I have FOUR huge dogs, and our floors never seem to be clean. Here are my thoughts: we recently purchased a Roomba and I couldn't be happier. Every evening, we run the Roomba, and I'm shocked at how much pet hair it collects (I'm a little ashamed because I thought we were doing a decent job cleaning the floors ourselves).

If a cat sits on the navigation system, would it cease working?

Yes, you can. It features a navigation camera on top. The camera will not operate if it is covered. It also requires a tiny amount of light to "see," thus it will not operate effectively in completely dark environments.

Is the Roomba 960 less likely to collide with obstructions or furniture legs than the Roomba 770?

Answer: I don't know about the 770, but I have an 880 that is similar in that regard, and it is somewhat better than mine. Although it still collides with furniture, it nearly always slows down first.
