What's to keep this thing from rolling over/through a hot pile of German shepherd dookie?

Answer: I have a Litter Robot, which requires a deep clean every 3-4 months or else its cycle will stop mid-emptying, and my cats will poop on the floor on rare occasions when I don't notice (it's in a room I don't use). This happened about three months ago: cats pooped, and after the Shark Vac ran over it, my room's floor looked like a Jackson Pollack painting. I have the Shark Vac set to run before I wake up, but I realised I should schedule it later in the day, after I'm awake, to ensure there's no poop. That's my advice: check the floor every day to make sure there's no poop on it before vacuuming.

Will this're-map' as you move furniture or move to a new home?

This vacuum is NOT a home mapping vacuum. It cleans the area row by row and provides a map of the area cleaned. It will not remember where things were, allowing you to move them as you see fit. It's ideal because I'm constantly rearranging things. I'd have to remap my house at least once a week.

Does this model recognise stairwells?

Will it work if set up in a space smaller than 5'x 6'? I don't have a permanent spot for it that big.

Yes, we have tried it in several locations with no problems. It will function properly as long as there is a clear path in and out of the area while in use. I only require about 2 feet of clearance from the front of the base unit because it backs in quickly once lined up to ensure a proper charge/dump connection. Ours is set up in a 2x2 or smaller space behind the angle where the love seat and sofa meet. You wouldn't even notice it unless you were looking for something or it turned on.

Does it also mop the floor?

No, Shark makes one that also mops, but this one does not have that feature.

Is boundary tape included?

Sadly, the correct answer is "no."

Do I ever have to clean the inside?

Answer: The inside of the base contains a filter that must be cleaned or replaced on a regular basis. If you prefer to replace the filters, they are very inexpensive. Aside from that, it will function normally without the need to clean the inside of the debris collection canister.
