    FAQS :

Is there a way to change the stride length on this machine? I can't seem to locate any information on this in the handbook. cheers!

Statement: Unless you count the solitary E-95s, which do have stride adjustment independent of elevation, Chris's answer is totally true. I'm talking about the E-95S (the s stands for stride), not the E-95.

What do you think? Is it running smoothly? Does it make any noises?

Answer: I didn't like it and sold it in less than a year. It jumps off the track, which is both startling and hazardous. I bought it to avoid the high impact of running when pregnant, so nearly falling to my death from a brand new elliptical jumping track was a major turnoff. Furthermore, Sole's customer support was ineffective.

What is the optimal stride length to use?

Answer: It depends on the individual; some persons require a longer stride length than others; I am 5'10" tall and find the 20" stride length to be ideal; the 18" was too short for me. Even if you buy on Amazon, I recommend going to Sears and trying them on.

Can Sole 2 Labor Warranty be trusted? OR do I need to purchase a warranty extension? If so, please recommend a good one.

Answer: Our machine has been with us for about two years, and I use it three times each week. I haven't had to utilize the warranty because we haven't had any problems with it. SquareTrade is a nice, honest firm to use if you need an extended warranty.

When maximum tilted, how height are you from the ground?

The average height of the foot pedals is around 18 inches at maximum elevation (level 20) "from the ground A single pedal's maximum height from the floor is 24 inches "However, the weight will be transferred to the lower pedal.

Can this equipment be used in my carpeted home gym?

Answer: If the carpet sheds fibers, such fibers may collect on the rail track; nevertheless, you should wash the rails clean before using them. With a cloth, it would only take 10 seconds. I don't think the fibers would make a difference, although they may create squeaking if the polyurethane wheels pressed against the fibers and rails.
