    FAQS :

Does the toothbrush have a charging base that you plug in?

Yes, the Sonicare ProtectiveClean 6100 has a charging base that you plug in.

Is the handle made of rubber or plastic with a smooth surface?

This Sonicare ProtectiveClean 6100 has a plastic handle.

It says that it is a "whitening" electric toothbrush. What kind of toothpaste do we need to use to whiten our teeth?

Answer: "Whitening" refers to the optional whitening brush head and whitening mode on the handle of this toothbrush. These will only get rid of stains that come from outside the enamel, like coffee, tobacco, red wine, etc. They are not very good at getting rid of stains that are already in the enamel, like tetracycline stains. You can use any kind of normal or whitening toothpaste. Many whitening toothpastes are rougher than regular toothpastes, so your dentist may be able to tell you if they are good for you. If your gums have receded and your roots are showing, you may want to be careful with or avoid whitening toothpastes. Root surfaces are not covered with enamel and are softer than the crowns of your teeth, so you may want to avoid them or use them with care.

Is the phillips protectiveclean 6100 waterproof or water-resistant, and which is it?

Yes, your Philips Sonicare toothbrush can stand up to water. But we don't think you should use it in the shower or bathtub. Follow the instructions in the manual for how to clean it.

What is Philips North America doing to address the toothbrush's high failure rate?

Answer: I experienced the same issue with my past two diamond care purchases. Under warranty, Phillips replaced the handle and charger on one. The replacement was ineffective, and the brush kept sliding off. The value you obtain in relation to the price you pay. On that front, I'm disappointed.

What is the manufacturer's product guarantee? My brush head wiggles and makes a lot of noise.

Answer: I dropped it, and my $200 toothbrush is now cracked. When I try to reinsert the piece, it is fully separated and unsteady. I'll look into the YouTube video to see if I can repair it. If not, simply get a simpler model. I had my last toothbrush for over 7 years. This lasted less than a minute:(

Why does DeepClean mode take three minutes without the app but only two minutes with it (the same as standard Clean)?

Answer: I believe the toothbrush vibrates in a unique way. I'm not sure why the time is off. You can ask your query on their website.
