    FAQS :

Is it equipped with RGB lighting?

Answer: MSI RGB is compatible; however, my CPU heatsink obscures the view.

Is this substance conductive to electricity?

This product is not electrically conductive, thus no.

Is there a limit on how many times this may be used? I'd like to upgrade my CPU and dual-GPU 295x2 card. I prefer to apply paste in a single narrow, centred line.

Answer: I know it's late, but it's still pertinent. I'd think there are at least ten proper applications. If you don't give a damn, give it a 4-5. Because I wanted to see how well Kryonaut worked, I was able to repast my previous desktop's GTX 660ti and do my laptop's CPU and GPU twice. I still have plenty to finish all three, but my initial application on the CPU and GPU was the greater quantity that some people use for other pastes, but this paste heats up quickly and doesn't function well with too much. I've discovered that adding very little at a time and spreading till a paper thin coating is on the surface of whatever you're glueing works best. Don't worry if your layer isn't even or flawless; the Heatsink will take care of it.

What is the purpose of this stuff? It appears to be crucial in the construction of computers. Also, how do you put that into practise? What are you referring to?

Answer: There are miniscule pits and valleys on the surfaces of CPUs and heatsinks, no matter how flawlessly flat they appear. These holes and valleys trap air, one of the worst heat conductors known to man, which is where thermal pastes come in. Thermal paste is used to fill up all of those small pits and valleys to enable molecule-to-molecule thermal contact and is developed for excellent thermal conductivity. Lower temperatures, longer component life, and no burned-out CPUs result from this. It just takes seconds to irreversibly damage or kill your CPU if you don't have a heat-sink and thermal paste installed. Thermal pastes are available in a variety of quality levels. Arctic Silver is often regarded as the best available, whereas the material that comes with pre-built PCs or packed with CPUs and most heat-sinks is considered the bare minimum. Arctic Silver 5 promises to reduce CPU temps by 3-12°C when compared to normal pastes, with most customers reporting a reduction of 10°C. In terms of how to set it up. If you can't find the manufacturer's website for whatever thermal paste you bought, try the heat-sink manufacturer, CPU manufacturer, or the internet in general. http://www.arcticsilver.com/methods.html has the Arctic Silver instructions. After reading up on the official way, you might want to look it up on YouTube to see how it's done in practise before doing it yourself.

Is this material ever going to expire? I have a tube that is around ten years old, and I'm not sure if I should keep it or replace it.

Answer: If the tube is still unopened or securely sealed, it should be alright. I've heard that others have used it after 6 years with no problems, but that's with a brand new tube. Before applying, ensure sure the connection between the heat sink and the CPU is well cleaned. If you discover that your CPU's temperature is running a bit high after using your own 10-year-old tube, I recommend purchasing a new tube. In fact, I would recommend purchasing a new tube anyway. This tube is compact and will enough for a few applications. Why waste time getting it done with your tube just to discover it hasn't held up properly over time? Best wishes.
