    FAQS :

Anybody able to describe the variations between the TP 08 and TP 20? What can you get with the $15 additional and the tp20?

Answer: I don't think anyone correctly mentioned that the 2008 includes a grill temperature alarm. a meat temperature probe. When smoking, especially on a smoker, it's crucial to regulate the temperature. An alert will go off if the temperature falls or rises too much. The 20 is primarily a meat and grilling thermometer. Two meat probes, or one for the grill and one for the meat. The 08 alarm for grill temperature is a convenient function if you wish to smoke over night or take a break from it for a while. You can have ruined food if your temperature drops over night.

How long are the probes' cords? To maintain the seal in a smoker, I would need to thread it through the top vent.

Answer: I purchased the Neiko Step Drill Bit #10194A and the Weber Silicon Grommet #85037. My best investment in BBQ gear. Use the step drill bit to create a 1.25-inch hole. Place the grommet into the smoker's side hole (not in the top cover). The grommet has room for around 6 separate probes. Although the description claims it is for a Weber Smokey Mountain grill, My Oklahoma Joe stick burner works perfectly with it. Both items are offered on this page of Amazon.

Who should I speak to to request a replacement probe under the given warranty, please?

As of right now (Dec. 4, 2018), if you go to their website, buythermopro.com, they ADVISE you to make your purchase on Amazon. I have no idea what the other guy was saying. They should get their story straight if they don't want you to make a purchase on Amazon. They are $10 cheaper at Amazon as of right now; in fact, I can find no way to even buy anything from their website. Well, it's Amazon then.

Can I cook the meat in my smoker with the probes still in place?

Yes, the probes may stay in the meat while it is being smoked. Then, as you sip a cold beverage and watch the game, you can monitor the cooking process.

Has the problem with Bluetooth disconnect been fixed? Exists a wifi version of this product?

Answer: I'm not sure what Rich W did to make his work, but when my iPhone 11 Pro Max, which is running the most recent iOS version, goes to sleep, the connection drops. I only just bought mine last week (10/9/2020). I will be returning it because this "convenience" renders it entirely useless for the purpose I had in mind (I frequently need a middle-of-the-night alarm to wrap a 16-hour brisket; if it won't wake me when it reaches temperature, what's the point?)

    The probe leads' lengths, please.

The probe measures around 9 inches, and the cable is 42 inches.

    Is it water-resistant?

    Not completely waterproof, yet rain-resistant

A full charge lasts for how long?

I charged it when I got it in November, used it several times up to 12/28/20, and it's still largely showing as fully charged.

Can I simultaneously keep an eye on my cook on two different phones?

Since you have to pair it and it only recognises one phone at a time, it says only one device at a time, but if you have a Galaxy 9+ like I have, you might want to consider the wifi version. On either my Asus tablet or my phone, the app will not function at all. Additionally, you can use all of your phones at once with wifi.
