    FAQS :

Is it possible to use it as a juicer?

No, not in the strictest sense. The juice (water) is extracted from the plants using juicers. The plants are blended into a smooth mixture in the Vitamix. To achieve this, you will need to add juice or water, but you will be surprised at how little. If you want to make the healthiest and most delicious drink possible, use the vitamix to make a smoothie. You'll hear that one of the benefits of smoothies is fibre, but this isn't entirely accurate. Consider how much vitamins and anti-oxidants are remained in the plant after the water/juice has been extracted. Especially in vegetables that aren't particularly juicy, such as spinach, kale, and carrots... Plus, you can add nutritious juice, protein powder, Metamucil, and other ingredients to the vitamix and it will blend everything together into a smooth drink. However, if a smoothie isn't your idea of a meal and you simply want a nutritious juice to accompany your dinner/breakfast, I'd recommend using a juicer rather than the Vitamix. Although it combines nicely, it does not extract. I hope this information is useful.

I'm looking for a nice scrapper to remove all of the contents from the glass container. Can anyone recommend one? I have the impression that I am leaving too much behind.

Answer: Oxo 1241581 excellent grips jar spatula from Amazon. I already had the flat spatula that came with the Vitamix, but I wanted to upgrade. Order two because, like me, you may wish you had done so and had to reorder.

Is there a tamper tool included?

Yes, of course! They don't include it in the description, but it does exist! I got one as an add-on just to find out it was already included. Make sure you don't make the same mistake!

Is it 220V, and can it be used in China?

The voltage isn't the most serious issue here. I've brought it here since it's a 60Hz model, and if you use it in China (50Hz), it's inefficient and doesn't produce the greatest results.

Can I cut or create a smoothie using iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, celery, and cucumber? For the next six weeks, my teeth will be out of commission.

Answer: If that's what you want in your smoothies, I don't see why not. You may need to chop some of the larger pieces, such as the romaine ribs, before placing them in.

I'm attempting to make an evoo vinagrette with this blender (similar to my previous Oster) and failing miserably. It continues to be runny. advice?

The reason for this is because the vitamix's base is too broad for good emulsion. Because the Oster's base is tapered, the contents aren't splashed away from the blades, it's excellent for mayonnaise and vinaigrettes. Because the bottom isn't tapered, the blades need more contact to emulsify. I'd recommend double the recipe for any emulsification.

Is it possible to acquire a silent shield for this one?

Answer: That did not occur to me as a possibility.

Is the model 110V or 220V?

    110V is the answer.
