    FAQS :

    Where are the piks stored?

Answer: There is room for two piks of your choice. It's on the opposite side of the water tank. The remainder must be stored separately.

Is it a complete replacement for manual flossing?

Answer: It takes the place of manual flossing if you despise it. It's preferable to doing nothing at all. I believe the water motion also massages the gums, leaves your teeth feeling clean and fresh, and removes the majority of debris. However, after using it, I performed a test and discovered that when I use string floss, my "scraping" action in between each tooth from the string floss gets up anything else that the Waterpik leaves behind.

Is it possible to use this with mouthwash in the reservoir?

Answer: You can, but you should avoid using essential oils (make sure your mouthwash does not contain any), since they will deteriorate the plastic over time and cause your waterpik to last less. FYI Listerine contains a number of essential oils (eucalyptol, menthol, methyl salycilate, and thymol). If you do use mouthwash in your waterpik, make sure to rinse it with clean water after each use to avoid this issue.

What are the distinctions between WP-672 and 660? (apart from pricing) Is it worthwhile to spend the extra money?

My dad has the 672, and I have the 660. His is significantly quieter than mine!! I would have assumed the motors were the same, but I was pleasantly surprised and will be upgrading to this one just for that reason!

Has anyone tried using dynamat to insulate the water pump from noise? On the lowest level, this item sounds like a jack hammer.

Answer: putting the entire unit on a textured silicone mat can assist. Honeycomb texture appears to be more noise dampening than other sorts because the honeycomb's relatively fragile walls appear to transfer less noise to the surface it's sitting on. I've also found PratiPad PLUS 4-in-1 Multipurpose Silicone Pot Holders, Trivets, Jar Openers, & Spoon Rests - Extra Thick Protection - Set of 2 - Green Grey at 99 Cent Stores. If you prefer white, go for KOHLER K-8619-0. White Kitchen Mat with Flexibility

Can it be used in the shower?

Answer: I propose eating a few small carrots or celery (cold) while taking a hot shower. It's best to keep them cool in a marble wine cooler or the bathroom sink, plugged in and full of ice. Check that the sink is genuinely clean, not just clean-looking.
