    FAQS :

Which is the superior option? 8TB components or 8TB my book?

My Book and my new 6TB Elements are both excellent, both have 3.0 USB ports... the difference is the data transmission speed... the Element is more newer and hence has better physical features.

Will this operate on a computer with only USB 2.0 ports?

Answer: It won't be any quicker than a USB2 disk since the PC's port will be the limit. However, it will not be much worse, and it will be much better if you ever obtain a PC with USB3 ports.

    Is this PlayStation 4 compatible?

Answer: It could work, but the PS4's maximum storage capacity is 8TB. My system has 12 TB of capacity thanks to a 4TB internal disk and an 8TB (Western Digital) external drive. I would not advocate buying anything larger than 8TB. A bigger size may be possible, however only the 8TB footprint will be used.

What is this storage device's HD speed? Do they rotate at 7500 revolutions per minute?

Answer: First, to respond to one of the previous commenters, RAID does not change the disk spin rate of each drive, and for the original poster, hard drive rpm speed is not always directly tied to the ultimate "speed" you're thinking of; for general questions of speed, you should look at Data Read/Write speeds.

I had no idea it had an a/c power cable. Will it function with a/c power or will it be powered via USB?

Answer: I just established my WD 10TB External Hard Drive yesterday as a slave, if you will, and it works well. Many people would try to connect it simply to the ac or to the 2.0 or 3.0 USP thinking they will get more speed, but the ac delivers the best performance here.
