    FAQS :

I'm considering the q2400 and q1400. They both use the same amount of power. Is the q1400 faster to heat up than the larger one?

The Q1400 has an 8.25 watts per square inch rating. The Q2400 has a wattage of 5.5 per square inch. Math does not deceive. 1400 degrees is fantastic and will quickly reach and maintain sear temperature.

To make cleanup easier, why not line the bottom with aluminum foil? I recently received one of these. Is there any reason not to?

Answer: I used foil to line the bottom detachable liner. This is a recipe for disaster. I agree that wiping it clean, removing the pan, and cleaning it with soap and water is a good idea. Also, after reading Weber's comments, neither the drip pan nor the reflective liner should be lined with foil.

Why can't they be used indoors?

Answer: We have one, and it generates a significant amount of heat. Weber, I'm guessing, doesn't want the risk, and it's never been certified for indoor usage.

Is there a preferred or particular brush for cleaning the Q2400 electric grill?

Answer: I use the Weber 6493 21-Inch 3-Sided Grill Brush because the wire sides clean beautifully between the grates. I also use Grillaholics' Grill Mat, which sits on top of the grill and keeps fluids and fat from reaching the grates, burners, or other sections of the grill.

I recently purchased a Q2400. When the grill is heating up, the instructions state that a red light will illuminate. But I can't find one. What is its proper location?

Answer: Because I don't have an electric grill, I went to Amazon and saw a brief video that didn't mention a red light. Hopefully, you'll find the solution in the handbook that comes with them, but I wouldn't worry about a red light; 10 minutes should plenty.

    Is it simple to clean?

Answer: Once the grill has cooled, the grill plates should be scraped clean. Use the three-sided wire brush made by Weber for this reason... you can get one inexpensively on Amazon.
